Bastian Muhr (*1981) is an artist living and working in Berlin, Germany.

He works with a variety of media. His focus lies on drawing and painting. He regularly realizes large site-specific works in the architecture of exhibition spaces or in the public space. From 2004 to 2010, he studied painting and graphic art at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. Since then, his work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Slovakia and the USA.

Muhr's works are included in the permanent collections of the Berlin State Museums (Kupferstichkabinett), the Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig, the Dresden State Art Collections, the German Federal Bank, the Museum Wiesbaden and others.

He received the Kunststiftung NRW Grant (2024), the Kunstfonds Foundation Grant (2021), the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2019) and was working as an artist-in-residence at the International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York City, USA (2015) and at the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation in Bethany, USA (2020).
